Chalet Pruche is a fine log cabin in the centre of Canada's largest arboretum, the Morgan Arboretum near the western end of Montreal Island.
For many years it has been little used because of its condition and the lack of power and water. A team of volunteers from the Friends of the Morgan Arboretum, led by the indefatigable Mariner Palmer, have been putting in many hundreds of hours to restore the building to a condition where it will be a credit to the Arboretum and available for use by the members.
Although there are still things to do, the chalet is now warm and dry and equipped with a functioning kitchen, washroom facilities, a restored log burning fireplace and plenty of ambience. It is now available for rental for club, company or family events, parties, receptions or whatever you wish - contact the office (514-398-7811) for further details.
